Teaching Philosophy

I am a little scared to be creating a blog.  I am not very good at sharing my feelings through words.  So I really hope that no one reads this blog besides my ITLS teacher.  But I want to tell you why I chose to become a teacher, because it is one of the most important things happening in my life and.....it's pretty much all I think and talk about.  When I was younger I hated school.  I would "go to the bathroom" so many times that my first grade teacher thought I might have diabetes (FYI increased urination is a huge sign).  My second and third grade teachers just labeled me as a quiet/shy child and moved on to help the other kids that needed help.  BUT my fourth grade teacher Mrs. Smith was different.  She treated everyone the same and loved us all.  She made learning fun.  I didn't know that learning could be fun.  Sometimes in the middle of a lesson she would make us stand up and she would blast a Brittney Spears song or N'SYNC.  This helped us get our wiggles out and get ready to learn more.  I loved that class and I love school and learning.  If I hadn't been placed in her classroom I might still hate school.  Because Mrs. Smith made such an amazing impact on my education experience I have chosen to become a teacher and be that change in someones life.  Next Spring I will be graduating from Utah State and will be looking for teaching positions.  Right now I don't care what grade I get I'm just crazy excited!!
Cheers!
